Sleep is one of the healers of the body. It helps to overcome all the fatigue of the whole day. It also helps you to cure anxiety and depression. It helps in the repair and maintenance of the organs of the body.  So, it is important for us to get enough sleep. Enough sleep helps our mind and body healthy.


How much sleep is enough?


The duration of sleep is different at different stages of growth. For adults, the duration of sleep is from 7 to 8 hours per day. Whereas the need for others like kids, toddlers, etc. is different from adults. The duration of others is given in the table below.

Sleep Disorder: Symptoms of not having a good sleep


You must practice getting good-quality sleep on a regular schedule each night. A regular schedule of sleep is crucial so that you feel rested when you wake up.

If you yourself are not able to take good quality sleep at your schedule then you must consult the doctor. The symptoms of not having good sleep are:

·       Feeling tired, the whole day.

·       Lack of concentration

·       Doze off at intervals the whole day

·       Frustration and irritation.

·       Loss of appetite

·       Trouble falling or staying asleep

·       Frequent loud snoring

·       Pauses in breathing or gasping while sleeping

·       Tingling or crawling feelings in your legs or arms at night that feel better when you move or massage the area

·       Feeling like it’s hard to move when you first wake up

 

 

Benefits of getting enough sleep


There are many benefits of getting good and enough sleep. Some of the benefits are:

·       Lack of sickness

·       It can help you to maintain your weight as obesity is the cause of many diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.

·       It is helpful in coping with anxiety and stress.

·       Good sleep leads to a good mood.

·       In the case of kids or school students they are able to think more clearly and do better in their studies.

·       Make good decisions and avoid injuries — for example, drowsy drivers cause thousands of car accidents every year


What changes you can make to get good sleep?


·       You have to change the schedule of the day if it not allowing you to get good sleep. You must always prefer to get your physical activity in the morning instead of at night

·       Your bedroom must be free from the disturbances caused by the noise. You must always use a dark room for sleeping.

·       You must have a schedule for sleep and waking up. Always go to bed as early as 10:00 pm.

·       Keep all your electronic gadgets far from you. It is better if you switch off your cell phones before going to sleep. Never use a mobile phone after lying down on the bed.
