TIPS TO IMPROVE MEMORY


Memory is the main function of our brain.


Without memory, we found ourselves in a constant state of confusion and frustration. It should be your strength instead of your weakness.


There are several ways through which you can improve your memory.


Here are some tips that may help:


Ø Mental Activeness: You should stay mentally active. Mental Activeness can be maintained by challenging it with new tasks and activities, such as learning a new language, reading a book, or solving puzzles.


Ø Regular Exercise: If you are not physically active then it may lead to various ailments in the body. You must exercise regularly as it can improve blood flow to the brain and may help improve memory and cognitive function.


Ø Sleep for at least 8 hours: A good healthy sleep can improve your brain functionality. Sleep is important for memory consolidation, so make sure you get enough restful sleep every night.


Ø A healthy nutrient-rich diet: Food is the main component that provides the energy to the brain as well as all the essential nutrients that are required for the normal functioning of the brain. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can provide the nutrients your brain needs to function at its best.


Ø Stay Stress-free: Stress is one of our hidden enemies. It is always there ruining our health slowly and steadily. Chronic stress can affect memory and cognitive function, so try to manage stress through relaxation techniques, such as meditation or deep breathing.


Ø Practice active recall: Once you read or learn something it gets stored in your brain. The problem is that we are unable to recall it. To strengthen your memory, actively recall information.  You should avoid rereading or reviewing it.


Ø Self-organization is mandatory: When you are alone or enter a state of thought you can get easily distracted and may enter a state of stress. Keep your environment and your thoughts organized to reduce distractions and improve focus.



 


Recall that memory is a complicated and varied process, and that no single method will work for everyone. You might eventually be able to enhance your memory and cognitive performance by putting some of these techniques into practice.
